We know you can!

The Cambridge Public Library invites all pre-kindergarten children and their families to read 1000 Books Before Kindergarten and begin a lifetime of learning and fun. Get a free tote bag when you sign up and earn your very own books with each milestone met.

How can you participate in our program?

Begin by registering at any Cambridge Public Library location and you will receive a free tote bag and book. Then you’re on your way–just keep reading! Looking for great books to read?  Our expert children’s librarians can help you find books that are just right.

 

Whenever you hit a 250 book milestone, there is a new gift book waiting for you at the Library.

Why participate in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten?

Reading is important.

The Library is a resource for you.

You can do it!

Reading helps your brain grow and develop and fosters creativity, imagination, and comprehension skills.

Come into the Library and borrow as many books as you would like. It’s all FREE!

1000 Books would be about 4 books a week from the time you are born until just about the time you will start kindergarten. So let’s get started, we’re going to have so much fun…
